Photography, for me, is an act of bearing witness. I am not merely pointing a camera at a scene — I am listening for its heartbeat. Whether it’s the pulse of a stadium, the quiet dignity of a street, or the precision of a commercial shoot, I work to reveal what lies beneath the obvious. I believe that real emotion doesn’t need staging. It thrives in the raw. My photos are born in that space between moment and memory — when fleeting light, human spirit, and environment converge to tell something true.
A Brief History
I’m Samwel Ogor, a visual storyteller rooted in Nairobi, Kenya, with a journey shaped by motion and contrast. From my early days chasing light in local football matches, I grew to cover competitions across borders, embracing both local passion and international arenas. Over time, I earned accreditation with CAF (Confederation of African Football) and with World Athletics, giving me the honour to document sports at the highest levels, both on track and on pitch.
Along the way, I explored documentary work — offering glimpses into lives, culture, struggle, and triumph — and applied editorial vision in telling the stories that need to be heard. Commercial work sharpened my craft: lighting, branding, precision. Through each genre I carried two goals: honesty, and clarity. I have stood on the sidelines, breathed in the roar of crowds, knelt in quiet places, and always sought to frame what moves us.
My newest venture, Tukio Images, is born of that belief: that moments—big or small—matter. Tukio (Swahili for “event” / “occurrence”) is where I push further: curating longer-form stories, nurturing emerging talents, partnering with communities to preserve visual heritage, and weaving imagery that doesn’t just show moments, but invites people into them.
What I Offer
My core work is photography — sports, documentary, editorial, and commercial. In sports, I cover both local and international competitions, with a special focus on football.
Beyond photography, I offer videography for events and campaigns, social media management to grow and engage audiences, and visual branding services including logo design, marketing collateral, and digital assets. I also build responsive, SEO-friendly websites using WordPress and Elementor, ensuring brands have a strong and consistent presence both visually and online.
